Job Description
Assist the In-Room Dining & Cafe Manager with supervising and providing direction to the In-Room Dining and Cafe teams. Ensure teams provide professional, engaging, and friendly guest service in the cafe and while delivering food and beverage orders and/or amenities to guest rooms.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Have complete knowledge of In-Room Dining and Cafe menus and ensure staff is aware of all menu specials, shortages, or item specifics on a per shift basis
· Supervise In-Room Dining and Cafe teams and complete operational duties during Manager’s absence
· Plan and assign team duties on weekly / monthly basis to achieve maximum labour/dollar efficiency
· Communicate with kitchen staff to advise them of guests’ needs and requests
· Pro-actively address guest comments or concerns
· Assist with or perform tasks of an In-Room Dining Server and Cafe Attendant when needed to meet service standards
· Ensure the In-Room Dining area and Cafe are clean and organized by establishing cleaning schedules within the opening and closing duties
· Prepare daily reports and team pass-on for incoming team members
· Work with the Manager to oversee department inventory
· Provide regular training, feedback, and support to team members and complete performance reviews
· Provide discipline when necessary and complete required documentation
· Report all equipment problems and maintenance issues
· Ensure adherence to all department and company policies and Health & Safety rules set by the Rimrock Resort Hotel
Qualifications
· Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent
· Post-secondary education in Hospitality/Tourism is an asset
· Alberta ProServe Certification
· 1-2 years of supervisory experience
· Competent in Microsoft Office
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills
· Demonstrates a positive, motivating, team-oriented attitude
· Able to maintain calm in a sometimes stressful and demanding environment
