· Greeting and welcoming guests as they arrive at the restaurant.
· Escorting guests to their tables and providing them with menus.
· Taking reservations and managing the seating plan to ensure efficient operation.
· Providing recommendations on food and drink selections, along with information about specials and promotions.
· Ensuring that guests are attended to promptly and addressing any requests or concerns they may have.
· Coordinating with the kitchen and serving staff to ensure smooth service.
· Handling guest inquiries, feedback, and complaints in a professional and courteous manner.
· Maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
· Assist in setting up and clearing tables to ensure a smooth flow of service.
· Collaborate with the restaurant manager and staff to ensure that guest preferences and special requests are accommodated.
· Maintain knowledge of the restaurant's menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods to provide accurate information to guests.
· Assist in training and mentoring new hostess staff members.
· Help with administrative tasks such as taking reservations, managing guest lists, and updating restaurant seating arrangements.
· Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately and securely.
· Assist in maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene in the dining area.
Qualifications
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Friendly and welcoming demeanour.
· Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
· Knowledge of food and beverage offerings.
· Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a fine dining establishment.
· Strong organizational and customer service skills.
· Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
