Job Description
Are you a skilled engineer and painter with a passion for creating beautiful spaces? Fairmont Olympic Hotel is seeking a dedicated and talented Painter / Engineer II to join our engineering and maintenance team. If you have experience in painting and finishing, an eye for detail, and a commitment to delivering exceptional quality, this is a fantastic opportunity to showcase your expertise and contribute to the timeless beauty of our establishment!

What you will be doing:
· Life and fire safety systems performance code and compliance
· Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning performance code and compliance
· Mechanical systems performance code and compliance
· Working with plumbing, electrical, central cooling, building automation systems
· Preventative maintenance programming
· Carpentry duties
· Kitchen and Laundry PM
· Engineering Department Safety programs
· Apply paint to many surfaces including but not limited to walls, ceilings, and doors
· Scrape, sandpaper, prime, and seal surfaces prior to painting
· Select and buy paint from vendors
· Wallpaper removal and installation
· Hardwood refinishing
· Wall surface repaid
· Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
· Must hold valid authorization to work in the USA
· Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
· Minimum 2 years of experience in commercial or residential buildings as an engineer
· Ability to work both inside and outside in all weather
· Strong painting skills with an eye for detail and the ability to create smooth, consistent, and visually appealing finishes
· Proficiency in accurately matching and blending paint colors to achieve desired results
· Commitment to safety practices and awareness of potential hazards in the workplace
· Ability to work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with colleagues and demonstrating a positive and cooperative attitude
· Flexibility to adapt to varying schedules and tasks, ensuring timely completion of projects
Physical Requirements:
· Constant standing and walking throughout shift
· Frequent lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs
· Frequent kneeling, pushing, pulling
· Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs, and ramps
· Occasionally work off hours to complete tasks in high traffic areas
