Job Description
·
Study marine organisms, including fish, mammals, invertebrates, and plants, to understand their biology, behavior, genetics, and ecology.
·
Research the effects of environmental factors such as water temperature, salinity, pollution, and climate change on marine ecosystems.
· Collect samples from oceans, beaches, and other marine environments for analysis.
· Analyze biological, chemical, and physical data to draw conclusions and identify trends or threats to marine life.
·
Assess the health of marine ecosystems and develop conservation strategies.
·
Study the impact of human activities (like fishing, pollution, and coastal development) on marine life and ecosystems.
·
Advise government agencies, environmental organizations, or private companies on policies or practices that can help protect marine habitats.
·
Educate the public, students, or government bodies on marine conservation and the importance of protecting marine biodiversity.
·
Collaborate with government agencies, NGOs, and private companies in marine conservation efforts or to promote sustainable practices in fishing or tourism.
Qualifications
· Bachelor, degree in Marine and Coastal Resources Management education.
· Strong understanding of biology and ecology.
· At least 1-2 years' experience in the sector and impeccable knowledge of indoors and outdoors Activities
· Languages: fluent in the national language, good spoken English and a 3rd language would be a plus.
· Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
· Good communication skills for writing reports, publishing research, and giving presentations.
