Job Description

We are seeking a talented and passionate Demi Chef to join our culinary team in Jakarta, Indonesia. As a Demi Chef, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our high standards of food quality and presentation while supporting the Chef de Partie in daily kitchen operations.

·  Assist the Chef de Partie in food preparation and service for assigned kitchen sections
·  Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and presentation standards, ensuring consistency and quality
·  Maintain proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices in compliance with HACCP standards
·  Support mise en place activities and ensure workstations are properly set up before service
·  Monitor and control food stock and waste to ensure cost efficiency
·  Verify the freshness, quality, and proper storage of ingredients
·  Adhere to kitchen safety procedures and maintain cleanliness of work areas and equipment
·  Communicate effectively with team members and other kitchen sections to ensure smooth operations
·  Assist in training and guiding junior kitchen staff when required
·  Contribute to menu development and suggest improvements to existing dishes
·  Adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
·  Stay updated on culinary trends and techniques to enhance the dining experience

Qualifications

·  1-2 years of experience as a Demi Chef or in a similar culinary role
·  Culinary degree or diploma from a recognized institution (preferred)
·  Food safety certification (e.g., ServSafe)
·  Comprehensive knowledge of kitchen operations, cooking techniques, and food hygiene standards
·  Proficiency in knife skills and various cooking methods
·  Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
·  Excellent teamwork and communication skills
·  Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
·  Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and grow professionally
·  Basic understanding of menu planning and food cost control
·  Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
·  Familiarity with Indonesian cuisine and local ingredients (preferred)
·  Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
·  Fluency in English; knowledge of Bahasa Indonesia is a plus
