Job Description
The Role:
At Manly Pacific, we are looking for an experienced passionate Commi/Demi Chef who is self-motivated & enthusiastic to join our team at the stunning ocean-front hotel location the Manly Pacific. You will be responsible of managing our casual dining with a dash of French flair Restaurant, Bistro Manly. This position is on a Part Time basis .
Responsibilities:
· Demi Chef is trade qualified and engaged to perform general or specialised cooking, butchering, baking or pastry cooking duties and/or supervises and trains other chefs and kitchen employees.
· Work with Executive Chef and Sous Chef to supervise all operational aspects of the Kitchen and related outlets.
· Ensure all employees are following procedures according to stipulated departmental and Hotel policies.
· Maintain strict hygiene and safety procedures.
· Is responsible for a section or the kitchen in the absence of the Executive or Sous Chefs.
· Assist Head Chef with menu preparation and ensure adequate supplies are available for expected service.
· This position involves food preparation and presentation with flair for breakfast, lunch and dinner for A la Carte, room service, functions and buffet service.
· Maintain a clean and hygienic work environment whilst ensuring a product of high quality and presentation standards.
· Demonstrate commitment to customer service for internal and external customers.
Qualifications
What we are looking for:
· Although we are looking for part-timer, having a full working right in Australia would be advantages
· An experienced Commi/Demi Chef with a passion for food and a creative flair. Preferably with knowledge in French cuisine.
· Service oriented with an eye for detail.
· Multicultural awareness and able to work with people from diverse cultures.
· Ability to work independently and demonstrated initiative in a dynamic environment.
· Strong focus and passion for hotel operations
· Confident and articulate communication, negotiation, relationship and networking skills
· Comfortable with guest interaction.
· Familiar with Food Safety and WHS legislation.
