Key tasks

Reporting to the Executive Chef you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the Breakfast. Assist in driving service standards to ensure the highest service delivery possible at The Square.

Ability to work autonomously while being passionate about providing excellent customer service
May include cooking for a la carte, buffet, room service and functions. Flexible approach in adapting to guest needs. Maintain and promote a high standard of hygiene in adherence to the Food Control Plan. Ensure effective communication with guest and Food & Beverage team and supporting kitchen team.

Essential and optional requirements

Previous experience as Breakfast Chef in a busy hotel environment upto 200 covers, incl good knife skills.
Neat and tidy personal presentation and a great team player
Ability to work in a fast paced, high pressure environment and work unsupervised
Reasonably fit due to long periods on the feet
Open and friendly smile – essential due to customer contact/interaction
Highly organised with ability to multi task and adapt pace.
Excellent attention to detail with a passion for innovation and creativity.
Current food safety certificate and appropriate cookery qualifications.
Flexibility with your availability particularly public holidays & weekends.
Excellent spoken English.
Eligible to work in New Zealand or hold a valid work visa/permit for minimum 12 months.
