About Mercure Brisbane Spring Hill
The Mercure Brisbane Spring Hill is located on the central city fringe, just minutes from the CBD, Brisbane River, Suncorp Stadium and public transport. Overlooking the city skyline and Roma St Parklands, the Hotel features 179 spacious guest rooms with generous open-aired balconies, modern amenities, an outdoor swimming pool, fitness room, and an alfresco-style restaurant and bar.
Job Description
You will be responsible for assisting the Financial Controller in the daily operation of the Finance department, supervising the hotel payroll and accounts payables accurately, maintaining records, and resolving staff queries.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Assisting with the compilation of the annual budgets and monthly forecasting, ensuring that all department managers have complete and equal input.
· Assisting department managers to develop effective measures to enhance their department’s profitability.
· Assisting the Financial Controller with the Hotel's payroll cycles and preparation for end-of-month reports.
· Preparing Balance Sheet reconciliations and bank reconciliations.
· Conducting payroll and accounts payable for the Hotel, while supervising accounts receivable.
· Ensure the cash handling procedures and policies of the Hotel are strictly adhered to.
· Monitor and check all audits relating to financial standards and procedures.
· Ensure all outgoing accounts are sent with appropriate documentation, addressed and valued accurately, and dispatched on a timely basis.
· Assume the responsibilities of the Financial Controller in their absence.
Qualifications
· Tertiary qualification in Finance and/or Accounting
· Prior supervisory or management accounting experience, preferably in hotels
· Strong knowledge in BAS and other statutory tax requirements
· Experience with SUN account system, Zambion payroll time & attendance system, Opera Property Management system, and Purchase Plus system is desired
· Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
