Job Description
As a dishwasher, you will play a crucial role in the efficient and hygienic operation of our bustling kitchen. Your primary responsibilities will include:
Dishwashing and Cleaning:
· Operating and maintaining industrial dishwashers.
· Thoroughly washing, scrubbing, and cleaning all kitchen utensils, pots, pans, dishes, cutlery, and glassware, both by machine and by hand, ensuring they meet the highest standards of cleanliness.
· Sorting and stacking clean crockery, cutlery, and equipment in designated storage areas.
Kitchen Hygiene and Maintenance:
· Maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchen areas, including floors, work surfaces, walls, and storage areas.
· Cleaning and sanitizing kitchen equipment such as ovens, fridges, fryers, hoods, and cooking stations.
· Assisting with the proper disposal and sorting of waste and recycling.
· Emptying and cleaning bins regularly.
· Ensuring adherence to all health, hygiene (HACCP), and safety regulations.
Support and Assistance:
· Assisting the culinary team with basic food preparation tasks (e.g., peeling vegetables) when required.
· Receiving and storing deliveries of kitchen supplies.
· Supporting colleagues with various tasks to ensure a smooth workflow, especially during peak service hours.
· Reporting any equipment malfunctions or breakages to supervisors promptly.
Qualifications
· Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items.
· Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
· Detail-oriented approach to cleaning and sanitizing
· Knowledge of proper use of dishwashing equipment and cleaning products
· Understanding of basic food safety and hygiene standards
· Strong teamwork skills and ability to collaborate with kitchen staff
· Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
· Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
· Prior experience as a dishwasher or in a similar role is preferred
· Food safety certification is a plus
· Basic English language skills; knowledge of Dutch or French is beneficial
