Job Summary:
User experience is a key area in the innovation of connected product solutions development at Safran Cabin. The Design researcher / Interaction designer leads the passenger research activities focusing on the context of the passengers in a commercial aircraft interiors and is part of the UX Design & Innovation team.

The purpose of the Design researcher / interaction designer is to build and understanding and maintain the passenger insights of our current products and systems and contribute to our future IoT “connected” innovations. In this role it is very important to translate research data and insights into a very high level of usability of our connected product service systems and contribute as passenger advocate during ideation, testing and improving to the overall cabin experience.

In this role the design researcher / interaction designer is responsible for being hands on with the process of user research, testing, development, content, and prototyping with our tools and methods. Being in the lead of the passenger research and interaction design activities you work closely with the crew researcher and interaction designer in Alkmaar, the Netherlands.

With a global customer base of our Safran Cabin products being able to understand cultural specific user insights are a big pre.

For this we look for a graduated expert in cognitive science, human computer interaction with several years of experience in the aviation sector trends, industry data analysis and passenger experiences cabin trends & designs. Is part of the Cabin Research and Technology activities that related to Connected Products and User Experience Activities.

Summary of Duties:

·  • Support R&T activities within the Cabin Branch that result in Connected Products, Systems, Services and/or Solutions.
·  • Work together with crew context researcher in Alkmaar, the Netherlands
·  • Define and measure quantitative UX goals and metrics in collaboration with Designers, Qualitative Researchers, Engineers and Product Managers.
·  • Examine existing data and product designs to generate hypotheses and plans for high-impact research.
·  • Develop code and statistical models to understand user experience.
·  • Drive change by communicating findings to stakeholders in the company. Make research findings convincing and actionable for both research experts and non-experts.
·  • Understand object models and drive efforts for restructuring complex information architectures.
·  • Deliver clickable prototypes and design specs that guide development efforts at a rapid pace.
·  • Document end-to-end journeys, ecosystems, and blueprints. And conduct process analysis to find opportunities for improvement
·  • Collaborate with product managers, engineering, researchers, business/operations teams, external vendors, and designers that deliver on business objectives
·  • Works with user groups to ensure that design experience requirements and objectives are met

·  • Leads design and discovery research, collaborating with other internal teams to understand the user problem to be solved
·  • Employ a mixed-methods approach to gathering both generative, evaluative feedback, contextual, lab-based, longitudinal and remote methods on designs and concepts.
·  • Define, plan and conduct research with both qualitative studies and quantitative methods through primary field research, behavioral analysis, secondary research, surveys, remote usability testing, lab studies, hypothesis testing, and other methods (existing or invented) that you identify to be most effective. Methods may include: heuristic evaluations ethnography, field studies, participatory design, experience mapping, card sorting, moderated and unmoderated remote testing, in-depth user interviews, as well as stakeholder interviews

Job requirements

Qualifications:
Education: BS Degree in Engineering, Cognitive Science, or Human Computer Interaction from a recognized institute
Experience: Minimum of 4 years of in aviation industry trends, industry data analysis and passenger experiences cabin trends & designs
