Tool Design Engineer

Summary of Duties :

· Design multi-function assembly jigs
· Design small to large match metal dies
· Design tooling check, routing, and inspection fixtures
· Interact with all departments impacted by the tool design to ensure the best design is achieved
· Act as an engineering liaison during design development of new products to ensure manufacturability
· Act as a shop liaison during production of new products to solve any tooling issues that may arise
· Balance multiple designs and projects, acting as primary point of contact
· Work with Tooling Design to develop best practices & standards

Qualifications: ­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­___________________________________________________________________________________

Education: BS in relevant subject preferred.

Experience: 1-5 years of tool design experience

Desired Computer Skills: Catia V5, Solidworks, or Pro-Engineer. MS Office Suite, MS Windows, AutoCAD and Mastercam X are a plus

Other Desired Skills:

Previous tool design experience is a plus.

General knowledge of mechanical systems and strengths of materials.

3D Modeling / Drafting experience.

Composites and programming/machining experience is also beneficial.

Strong communication skills.
