Occupational Summary:
Manages overall Field Service Operations at Boeing Company (Washington State: Everett) to ensure employee safety, product quality, customer requirements, and manpower allocation. Maintains a professional working relationship with all departments within Safran seats (SSUS, SSGB and SSFR), Safran Cabins, the Boeing company and airlines customers.
Duties and Responsibilities (essential functions):
· Assures all delivered Safran seats flow through The Boeing Company system to meet The Boeing Company schedules.
· Is the focal point of contact of The Boeing Company in FAL for Safran seats activities. This may include contacts with executive management of the Boeing Company to represent Safran Seats
· Develops a long term & strategic partnership with local Boeing supplier management representative to avoid escalation of problems.
· Assures compliance with FAA regulations and quality standards at the Washington Support Centers.
· Manages replacement orders process of defective or The Boeing Company.
· Maintains visibility of all projects to ensure product quality, customer requirements.
· Develops and monitors a quality program to minimize costly mistakes and rework.
· Maximizes manpower, equipment and facility utilization.
· Reviews rework/modification, product quality, and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance profitable operation of divisions while managing the Support Center to established budget.
· Provide input and assistance in devising and complying with the budget planning and execution.
· Responsibilities: Oversight of approximately 20-30 employees in the Field Service, repair and warranty units. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units.
· Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies, procedures and applicable laws.
· Responsibilities include interviewing, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
· Maintains effective safety program to prevent injuries and lost time.
13. Develops a strategic vision of the future needs of Boeing in cabin completion
14. Proposes new services to fulfill the future needs of Boeing in seats/cabin completion (seats installation on behalf of Boeing; management of all the supply chain)
15. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualification Requirements :
Knowledge and Skills:
· Strong knowledge of Safran seats, repair systems, operations, methods, procedures, and all related EASA or FAA requirements.
· Good Administrative and organizational skills.
· Effective interpersonal and team building skills a must to be able to work with specific needs and requirements of major customers: The Boeing Company, Emirates, and ANA.
· Strong knowledge of aircraft engineering standards and quality control standards and practices.
· Must have ability to maintain multiple tasks simultaneously, including the ability to manage assignments from more than one customer during any given day.
· Must have the ability to work well with Boeing / Airbus and customer personnel under stressful situations.
· Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Education and Experience:
· Bachelor's Degree educated in an engineering / business related discipline preferred.
· Eight years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in aircraft industry.
· Ideally experience managing a supplier support team at an aircraft manufacturer’s final assembly line & experience of aftermarket / services sales.
· Two years of prior supervisory / management experience required.
Physical Demands:
· While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the environment is moderate. While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to stand; walk and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to lift up to 50 pounds. The vision requirements include: ability to adjust focus, depth perception, peripheral vision, distance vision and close vision.
· Will be on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week to respond to The Boeing Company needs.
Travel:
· International and/or Domestic travel required; not to exceed 15% percentage of time
