This position is concerned with the establishment, operation, and coordination of the human resources function, including acting as an advisor, administrator, counselor, and mediator to the company on all labor and employee relation’s matters and seeks to create an organization where each employee’s work is a source of enjoyment and satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintains a fully functioning Human Resources Department, including employment screening and referral, group benefit administration, personnel record keeping, unemployment, compensation and worker’s compensation, and immigration-related matters

Provide human resource services to employees through company policies and activities.

Develop and train human resources staff as required to maintain a professional department.

Establishes and recommends revisions for management company procedures and practices concerning personnel and employee relation’s matters.

Provides consultative expertise to departmental managers and supervisory personnel concerning disciplinary problems and interpretation and enforcement of rules and procedures.

Act as facilitator and trainer for leadership and management teams.

Oversees the recruitment employment process.

Assists in the preparation of annual performance reviews.

Work directly with brokers, insurance carriers and W/C adjusters regarding all benefit plans.

Work directly with 401(k) advisors and company 401(k) plan.

Maintain and monitor the company Drug & Alcohol Program

Represents management in grievance hearings as stipulated by the employment or local law

Develops and maintains employee relations programs to include social and wellness activities

Performs other duties as assigned by management

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversees Human Resources personnel from one to four employees. Has thorough understanding of these areas and is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Demonstrate discretion, integrity and fair-mindness.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

BA degree and/or college or university program certificate and/or Human Resources Certificate; and a minimum of five (5) to eight (8) years related experience, two (2) years managerial experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous experience in Aerospace and/or Manufacturing environments preferred.

LANGUAGE

Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets insurance documents, labor law summaries, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from employees and co-workers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write memorandums, letters, and classified ads in correct English. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
