Safran Cabin provides all elements of a seamlessly integrated Cabin Interior. From the overhead bins, lavatories and galleys to crew rests and cargo containers, either as independent world class products or as a fully integrated cabin. The Ergonomist manages and coordinates the ergonomic program that will be deployed throughout the global Safran Cabin organization to ensure all Safran reference standards are being applied. They will act as an ergonomic liaison, advisor and technical expert to facilitate ergonomics program development, implementation and maturity across the global enterprise. They are responsible for the development and integration of HSE/ergonomics programs to achieve strategic business goals and operational objectives established by the Safran Cabin Executive Team.

Summary of Duties:

Job duties:

· Coach and support the company’s top management in the Ergonomics program deployment - in support of the company’s HSE focal point.
· Contribute to the improvement of working conditions and performance of the manufacturing process within the company's perimeter.
· Lead and provide the necessary support to the Safran’s ergonomics network (Ergonomic Correspondents, PRAP assessors, workstations design leaders, products design and industrialization leaders).
· Facilitate the compatibility of production systems by taking into account specific characteristics of the site population and their evolution (ageing, types of restrictions, anthropometry, training, etc.) and the specifics of work requirements.
· Conduct trainings: awareness training for managers and potentially PRAP trainings.
· Conduct physical demands analyses, ergonomic risk analyses on single jobs, production lines, or entire plants.
· Perform ergonomic assessments using standard ergonomic analysis tools and complete detailed technical reports.
· Provide ergonomic support to identify and prioritize ergonomic risks, conduct ergonomic risk assessments and provide recommendations on elimination of risk.
· Develop ergonomic specifications, standards and best practices through Safran recommendations, literature review, in field ergonomic analysis and evaluation.
· Prepare reports or presentations summarizing results or conclusions of ergonomics activities and studies.
· Support local HSE departments to realize ergonomic analysis and provide ergonomic expertise.
· Recommend workplace changes to improve health and safety, using knowledge of potentially harmful factors such as heavy loads or repetitive motions
· Integrate ergonomic data in new operational programs
· Participate in the Safran Group ergonomist network and collaborate with the Group ergonomic program manager.
· Develop and sustain collaborative relationships with corporate and regional business partners and stakeholders on health and safety issues.
· Collaborate with sites' GMs, HSE, Engineering, and Management teams to identify sites' priorities based on HSE data, such as Worker's Compensation and occupational illnesses data, and establish actions to minimize risk.

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience

· Requires a Master's degree or doctorate from an accredited institution, in Ergonomics (BCPE for the United States (Board of Certification in Professional Ergonomics).
· Minimum of 3 years related experience required in a manufacturing environment.
· Prefer Certified Professional Ergonomist (CPE) certification or an equivalent international certification.
· Project Management experience.

Other Knowledge/Skills

· Must possess the ability to run projects and analyze reports and data.
· Requires proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
· Strong knowledge of Ergonomics required.
· Effective verbal and written communication and presentation skills required; interpersonal skills working across the organization with various levels of individuals are essential.
· Flexible team player who thrives in environments requiring ability to effectively prioritize and juggle multiple concurrent projects.
· Demonstrated success and experience in consulting on and driving multiple functional areas including safe working conditions, ergonomics processes, budget, communications, and vendor management.
· Demonstrable leadership and customer focus skills.
· Demonstrated success in Project Management.
· Knowledge of applicable state and federal employment and labor laws and governmental compliance requirements.
· Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions in a manner consistent with the essential job functions and in support of Safran’s objectives; demonstrated ability to bring new solutions to complex issues.
