Summary

The Project Engineer will take ownership and/or support technical engineering projects related to water and waste system components. Using sound engineering principles, this engineer will work to ensure robust, airworthy designs are attained.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Subject matter expert for the assigned water or waste system product
· Takes responsibility (technical and project management) of small/medium LRUs with support from management and/or higher level engineers.
· Interfaces with the internal customers and is the primary technical point of contact for his/her LRU
· Review and process engineering changes in the development of water and waste equipment
· Utilizes sound technical problem solving to own or support ongoing and new projects
· Perform research and/or testing for troubleshooting and presents design changes for consideration
· Able to interface with existing suppliers.
· May Interface with new suppliers and OEMs with guidance
· Ensures compliance of redesign solutions, performance, safety and reliability to ensure a robust engineering design
· Performs root cause failure analysis that lead to design solutions or corrective actions
· Other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience -

· Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (or equivalent) from a recognized institution
· Minimum of 2 years of engineering experience in the evaluation of aircraft components and/or systems
