OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY:

· Manage and maintain the engineering CAD and PDM systems and databases in support of product design and product configuration requirements for all product lines. Maintain positive contact with the engineers and engineering management staff. Train users of these systems on recurring basis. Plan, coordinate, and facilitate the transition to new/upgraded systems.
· Reports to Engineering Systems and Services Manager

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Ensure that the Engineering Data Systems: SmarTeam PDM, Catia V5, Pro-Engineer, Intralink, other CAD systems, Drawing PDM, etc., are properly maintained and meet user needs.
· Request and ensure that upgrades to system are properly introduced and that users are aware of procedures, methods and best practices.
· Review issues and problems reported by users promptly, review needs for improvement on a regular basis and propose resolutions. Implement agreed upon resolutions in a timely manner.
· Supports Zodiac PLM Solutions Architect & Zodiac Seats PLM/Catia/ES Initiative including implementation of Catia V5 and SmarTeam.
· Expert in Engineering Toolsets.
· Support development & Maintenance CAD/PLM & Engineering toolsets.
· Review, Create, Develop, Document and Maintain CAD/ PDM/CM/PLM Best Practices, Procedures & Methods.
· Analyze Data and Conduct Workflow Improvement Workshops .
· Unit and Functional Testing of new process development and enhancements.
· Support analysis, plans, and data migration.
· User Maintenance & Training of end users in Catia, SmarTeam, Engineering toolsets & Workflow.
· Support Cad & SmarTeam Issues & software Installation (Catia, ProE, SmarTeam, I-link, MCW, etc...).
· Sustain and implement Training Plan and Maintain records and support departmental training coordinator as required.
· Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
· Other duties as required.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS :

Knowledge and skills:

· Advanced knowledge of CATIA V5 & Smarteam required.
· Advanced knowledge of ProEngineer and Intralink preferred.
· Advanced knowledge of 3D large assembly modeling methodologies required.
· Knowledge of AutoCAD and/or CADAM preferred.
· Knowledge of other PDM and PLM systems preferred.
· Solid understanding of Change Control and Configuration management processes is required.
· Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and to complete them within given time constraints.
· Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of engineers.
· Ability to develop and document best practices and procedures.
· Ability to handle servers and visual basic scripts preferred.
· Ability to supervise technical/technology resources preferred.

Education and/or Experience:

At least an Associates Degree (A.S.) in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Aided Design, Industrial Design, or related field of study; a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree is preferred.

At least 5 years engineering design experience required including Catia V5.

At least 3 years CAD system management experience required with Catia V5.

At least 2 years PLM/PDM systems administration including SmarTeam required.

1 year of PDM/PLM development and implementation experience preferred.

At least 2 years supervisory experience required.
