Job Description Overview: TRW is a leading developer and innovator in the rapidly growing field of Driver Assist Systems (DAS). These camera- and radar-based technologies assist drivers by providing information and acting on environmental data at the front, side and rear of vehicles to help warn drivers of impending danger. They can also provide intuitive cues or actions such as braking and steering inputs to help “coach” the driver to stay in lane or offer convenience functions like Adaptive Cruise Control. - Responsibilities include supporting all phases of the camera design and development lifecycle. The engineer will work within a team comprised of electrical, mechanical and software specialists working to develop new camera products.
- Develop system validation test plans and processes.
- Develop test instrumentation or support hardware.
- Work closely with System Requirements engineers in the preparation for, and execution of system validation tests.
- Customer and system requirements analysis.
- Lead root-cause analysis for any testing non-compliances.
- Create interface control documents.
- Maintain System validation test plans and reports
- Data analysis.
- Definition and support of test vehicle build (system and measurement tool integration)
- Manage and control of TRW test vehicle usage according TRW work instruction
- Optimization of system behavior by system tuning under real life condition
- Presenting system tuning to - and discuss with – customer
- Organization of test drives and participation locally as well as at foreign countries
- Organization and carry out vehicle tests at suitable test tracks(locally test tracks as well as at foreign countries e.g. TRW winter test center)
- 0 - 5+ years of experience in automotive engineering working in product development with a preferred focus on vehicle system testing.
- Knowledge of and understanding of automotive electronics manufacturing processes a plus.
- Knowledge of laboratory tools for performing product analysis and testing
- Knowledge in Automotive SPICE assessment model a plus
- Ability to rapidly assess a system under real life condition by “reading” the traffic to create relevant scenarios (creative driving).
- Tester / Test management skills (certified test manager) preferred.
- Strong Microsoft suite skills including PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
- Ability to communicate with and understand the needs of internal and external clients.
- Strong sense of urgency and personal commitment.
- Able to contribute to strong and dependable teams.
- Possesses excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex document
- Good driving skills (feeling for vehicle behavior, reliable control of vehicle when carrying out defined test scenarios especially if supporting cars are involved, experienced in driving at all traffic conditions).
- Driver license
