Job Description We are a leading Global supplier of commercial steering components for medium- and heavy-duty vehicles.  Our company is respected world-wide for designing and manufacturing original systems, parts and components featured on most major truck and commercial vehicle manufacturers.   This position reports directly to our Chief Engineer, Advanced Engineering.  

Role: 
Incumbent is responsible for supervision of the software engineering team.    He/she will develop processes, tools and human resources to support business expansion in exciting new automotive ADAS (Advance Driver Assistance System) product.  He/she will establish and implement project reviews to ensure coordination of work performed and identify areas for continuous improvement, ensuring processes and tools are in place to meet the requirements of the business and customers.
 
 
Major Responsibilities: 
 

  • Lead software engineering team ensuring adherence to the software process for core development software
  • Transform software development process from efficient core development emphasis to customer application projects.
  • Include ISO 26262 compliance in software development process and work products.
  • Develop flexibility and scalability in team and process to support new global customers in terms of both product launches and change requests.
  • Identify areas for continuous improvement including the improvement of technical and project planning competencies of the team
  • Prioritize, plan and track project progress
  • Ensure coordination and tracking of joint application development work performed by design centers and/or 3rd party contract developers and IP supplier
  • Lead the introduction and improvement of software processes, tools, methods and skills/training plans for application software development, presenting practical input for strategic technology decisions
  • Drive the creation and use of modular/reusable embedded software design, verification and documentation 
Education Requirements Bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer science, with a Masters’ degree highly desirable
Experience and Skill Requirements * Minimum of six years experience in safety critical real time embedded software development

* Demonstrated ability to manage projects ensuring coordination of joint development work

* Knowledge of ISO 26262 software development requirements preferred.

* Knowledge of ZF TRW software development tools and processes a benefit.

* Knowledge of/experience with software development tools such as: Vector CAN tools, Matlab/Simulink/dSpace and Rhapsody model based programming, DOORS/VIBE/Medini requirements management, QAC/Misra, Cantata and Polyspace unit S/W tools.
