Job Description This is an OIP 4/5 level position. · Manage SBS engineer in the TRW OSS Japan Engineering Center including hiring the engineering staff.· Continue to build the engineering relationship with Toyota, Honda, Nissan and Suzuki· Support and lead the acquisition of all projects with Japanese customers.· Support the preparation of business cases for projects and support the negotiations with the customers· Work very closely with the sales department to secure the sales forecast over the five years plan. Provide proposal and identify potential business targets to maintain and grow TRW’s restraints business in Japan.· Responsible for all Japanese customer interactions.· Visit all customers on a regular basis to discuss engineering issues, to make technical presentations or to propose TRW new products. · Responsible for the application engineering of the airbags and seatbelt for all the Japanese car companies· Responsible for the budget planning and resources allocation of Japan Engineering Center.· Constantly working with Europe and US to ensure that the product development is following the Japanese standards.· Direct communication with sales and product planning to ensure that the TRW product will meet the demand of the Japanese customers.· Knowledge of the Japanese approach for design and development.· Build global network within TRW and in the automotive industry.· Study TRW’s competitor’s products and their strengths and weaknesses.· Support the battle plans with the sales department for all customers and programs to help secure the future restraint business for TRW.
Education Requirements Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering, Precision Mechanics, Vehicle Technology, or equivalent education
Experience and Skill Requirements More than 15 years work experience with Japanese car manufacturers or automotive parts manufacturers;
