Job Title CAE Engineer
Business Unit Engineering - OSS
Job Description This engineer will perform nonlinear structural analysis on airbag, seat belt, steering wheel components and assemblies.
Major Position Responsibilities:
- Perform structural analysis (crash analysis, static strength analysis, and fatigue analysis.) following global CAE guidelines and processes.
- Validate simulation results using test data.
- Develop and conduct, with other personnel, physical testing to quantify input loads and data for analysis.
- Perform project planning and scheduling analysis projects. This includes the coordination with outside services resource.
- Provide efficient communication and documentation of the analysis results
- Interaction with product design engineers, test engineers, designers and program management personnel.
- Advance the use of analytical technique in product design and development.
Education Requirements Masters degree in mechanical engineering or Aerospace Engineering required. PhD in mechanical engineering, aeronautics or equivalent preferred.
Experience and Skill Requirements •0 to 3 years experience with nonlinear structural analysis using finite element methods.
•Strong background in structural dynamics, dynamic impact and crash.
•Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
••Automotive component design experience.
•Working experience with FEA codes (LS-DYNA, ABAQUS STD and Explicit, PAM CRASH, and HYPERWORKS.
•Knowledge of fracture mechanics analysis and metal forming is a plus.
