Product Developer/ Garment Technologist – Kidswear (m/f)

Job description

 You will work closely with the product management and designers on the total product cycle
· You are in charge of realizing fashion trends and tech packs into commercial production adhering to the brand aesthetics and child safety requirements and legislation
· You will attend all sales meetings to understand lessons learnt to apply to future ranges
· You work closely with the buyer to develop supplier relationships and the maintenance of an excellent supplier network
· You will develop and own the tech pack (technical part) trims, measurements, risk assessment for kids wear
· You will use your experience to resolve supplier issues from fit to manufacturing challenges on a daily basis
· You will ensure the product labeling is correct in accordance to the product design and material used
· You will create and manage the library of blocks for kids department
· You will lead and manage the fit process and ensuring critical paths are followed
· You will liaise closely with Ethical Trade and Quality Management on processes, guidelines and take responsibility for implementing them with each supplier
· Continually evaluate customer returns and vendor scorecard results and take appropriate actions

What you've got

· You have at least 3-5 years of professional experience in garment technology and development of clothing for a childrenswear retailer, brand or supplier
· You have proven experience in product development from initial concepts to realization through garment production
· You are highly knowledgeable in childrenswear safety requirements and legislation to European standards
· You are able to manage a global supplier base and able to adapt your approach to foster successful partnerships to lead to production success
· You have a high understanding of factory manufacturing process for kidswear and understand how to best utilise supplier strengths and handwriting
· You have a sharp eye and an ability to adapt trends to kids and bring to life garment design to a commercial level in line with brand expectations
· You plan and monitor the KPIs, and analyses returns and supplier performance with the Merchandising
· You have a problem-solving mindset, great communication skills and you love to work within an international team
· You have excellent communication skills and can articulate clearly to suppliers
· You have excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel) and PLM systems is a bonus
· You possess an entrepreneurial mindset with resilience, flexibility and strong team spirit is what defines you
· You speak English fluently; German and or other language skills are definitely a plus
