The Business Unit Zalando Operations combines Customer Care, Content Creation and Payment for all international Zalando Shops. Zalando Logistics takes the responsibility for the entire logistics and stands for fast, easy and straightforward delivery of Zalando’s products. In our logistics centers all over Germany dispatch and shipping employees, logistics specialists, process manager, human resources and IT specialists work hand in hand. The Operations Controlling in Berlin supports the local teams to achieve their challenging goals.

 

YOUR NEW JOB

As an Operations Controller for Warehouse Logistics you use your work experience, e.g. from Logistics or Production Controlling, to advise your warehouse location on all commercial concerns and to ensure that Controlling works together with the teams on-site.

You are in constant communication with the Operations Managers on-site and different Controlling and Support functions. This is your chance to take an active part in the success story of Zalando.

 

YOUR TASKS DURING THE FIRST 12 – 24 MONTHS

·  During your training period you’ll get to know the Operations Controlling and especially the Standard Controlling of the internal warehouses (3 – 6 months)
·  You’ll take on the gradual development and expansion of the Performance Management and Cost Controlling for your warehouse location in close coordination with your team
·  You’ll be responsible for both the development of the operative Controlling of the Logistics Cluster Warehouses and the financial reporting
·  As “Performance Coach” and commercial conscience of your location you’ll ensure “Operational Excellence” is achieved together with the standard controlling
·  You’ll take over the location planning – both in terms of operative costs, processes, administration and Overheads and requisite investments
·  Depending on your personal interest you’ll take over further projects and control tasks in the Operations Controlling environment

 

WHAT YOU’LL HAVE REACHED AFTER 6 – 12 MONTHS

·  You’ll have managed to work yourself into the processes within the warehouse and you’ve understood the commercial and procedural connections – with this knowledge you’ve completed first deeper analyses
·  You’ve established regular coordination with the location regarding target/actual value deviation and grounded an active and focused exchange with the team on-site
·  You’ve been able to display technical features of your location in the general reporting and you’ve made them available from the date of production rollout

 

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU

·  You have 3 – 5 years of working experience in the field of Production or Logistics Controlling
·  From your professional experience and academic education you have deeper knowledge regarding processes, processing costs and databases / Business Intelligence Systems
·  You have good English and preferrably Polish language skills
·  You are ready and willing to spend 20 – 30 % of your time on-site (travel activity)
