Credit Analyst
Graduate job Manchester (Greater Manchester)
Job description
The Company
Worldpay - do you know who we are? Not everyone does and yet globally, billions of money transactions a year are made using our payments processes.
We process almost 50% of payments on the UK high street and we are the largest in Europe so there's a good chance that Worldpay took care of your last payment, you just didn't know it. We are a financial technology company and every second of every day, we help businesses around the world to collect payments swiftly and securely.
The Role
We are currently looking to recruit a Credit Analyst to work within our SME Credit Division based in Manchester City Centre. The team is responsible for assessing the credit risk of any Small to Medium Enterprise who applies or uses our services. Through the analysis of financial and non financial information, a risk assessment is made as to whether we can engage or continue with a customer whilst ensuring the risk of loss to Worldpay is minimised.
What you will be doing
The role is varied day to day but key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Ensuring new and existing business cases are reviewed within pre agreed timescales/service standards.
- Eliciting both financial and non financial information about the running of a customers business to aid in the decision making process.
- Conducting a credit assessment highlighting pertinent points and areas of concern with reference to Worldpay policies to obtain approval from the appropriate authority.
- Where concerns are identified, or a loss to Worldpay is considered likely, undertake necessary actions to minimise potential loss as appropriate.
- Holding difficult conversations with customers with the assistance of colleagues, where appropriate.
- Liaising effectively with Customers as well as internal parties (Sales, Collections/Recoveries, Transaction Monitoring, Policy & Schemes and Compliance) on a daily basis.
- Demonstrating commitment to the wider success of the credit team through team orientated skills and behaviours.
- Assisting with the implementation of new processes which lead to service improvement.
- Ensuring that all systems/databases are maintained accurately at all times, for management information reporting.
What we are looking for
You should be comfortable managing and prioritising your own workload in a fast paced team environment. Experience within a client/customer facing role will help given that you will be dealing with our customers on a daily basis.
Whilst credit risk experience is beneficial it is by no means essential. Far more important are good communication skills, an inquisitive and analytical mind, the ability and confidence to justify your own decisions, tenacity, drive and solutions focused.
It is also highly desirable that you have the ability to interpret key information from financial accounts and be able to use that information to assess the credit worthiness of a business. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to join an energetic and diverse team who wants to learn and grow in their role.
