Job description

Busy localization company requires IT graduate to join small dynamic IT Services team. The IT Services team is responsible for all aspects of Wordbank’s global IT deployment, ranging from front line support to infrastructure maintenance & strategy and bespoke application development.

Your primary role in the team will be to manage and help develop the company’s backend infrastructure and help to provide first line support to our internal users. You must be prepared to get involved in a diverse range of IT issues, so will be a team player with a flexible, proactive attitude. You will demonstrate excellent analytical and problem solving skills and be able to think outside the box. A calm and patient approach is critical, as is an ability to self-teach and pick up new tasks quickly.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Front-line support for our Windows users – a mix of Windows 7 and Windows XP desktops.
• Support for internal customers on Windows and Macintosh clients and the monitoring of our user request system.
• Maintenance of Active Directory servers and Microsoft Terminal Servers.
• Maintenance of Linux and Windows servers (file, database, FTP and web servers).
• Shared responsibility for procurement of hardware and software requirements – maintenance and development of supplier relationships.

Required knowledge/experience: Windows 7/XP, Windows Server 2003/2008/2012, Office 2000/2007/2010, Active Directory, general networking, Unix admin

Beneficial knowledge/experience: OS X, SQL database administration, scripting, pfSense firewalls and OpenVPN links

Projects are one-off discrete pieces of which will be assigned dependent on your suitability to the project and the amount of time available. Here are examples of some pending projects:
User onboarding setup – automate our existing user setup process
Active Directory upgrade – map out our existing logical network structure and recommend improvements to it
Machine deployment automation – improve our current machine deployment setups for automatic desktop setup
