Training Specialist / Instructional Designer

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Training Specialist/Instructional Designer is a mid-level, full-time role within the Training Department. This role is responsible for the design and development of online, instructor-led, blended learning, classroom, and supplemental training materials (i.e., user guides, videos, job aids, and graphics) that are functional, engaging, informative, and consistent with sound instructional design principles.

 

The Training Department is in the Individual Marketplace line of business in the Benefits Delivery & Administration segment of Willis Towers Watson and supports our three Service Center locations in Tempe, AZ, Richardson, TX, and South Jordan, UT.

 

Key Responsibilities:

·  Effectively master, train, and evaluate all learning objectives proprietary University course curriculum

·  Facilitate learning in a creative, interactive, and enthusiastic learning environment

·  Ability to successfully work within and support 3 service center sites

·  Maintain and develop learning programs using a project management approach across cross-functional teams, including: needs assessment, solution development, delivery, tracking, and continuous improvement

·  Design, author, and edit complex eLearning, virtual, blended and classroom curriculum programs and learning aids

·  Consult with subject matter experts (SME) to ensure training information is current and accurate

·  Track, evaluate, and report training effectiveness

·  Provide thorough and detailed quality assurance of all course material

·  Responsible for the coaching, development, and evaluation of Seasonal Training Specialists

·  Act in a compliant, professional manner at all times

·  Cultivate strong working relationships across multiple departments

·  Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

·  3 years instructional design experience

·  Strong public speaking and presentation skills required

·  Excellent project management skills

·  Outstanding verbal and written communication skills a must

·  Must possess the ability to work successfully with different personality types

·  Must be able to apply research-based learning theory and proven instructional design principles to create engaging course designs within established department and professional processes

·  Problem-solving skills a plus

·  Must be able to follow and communicate the procedures and policies of the training department

·  Ideal candidate should be able to respond positively to change and the challenges and opportunities it brings

·  Strong understanding of adult learning theory and learning styles

·  Strong technical skills preferred

·  Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite applications, including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook

·  Life, Accident, & Health license a plus

·  Bachelor’s degree a plus

This position is available in our Richardson, TX, Tempe, AZ, and South Jordan, UT locations.
