Job description
The Role
We are looking to recruit a Tax Staff Accountant for our Corporate Tax department that is responsible for filing a consolidated federal income tax return, with approximately 85 subsidiaries. Also, the department files 27 combined state income tax returns and approximately 900 separate company state and local income and franchise tax returns. In addition, the tax department is heavily involved with the company’s compliance with ASC 740.
· Reviewing financial information prepared by field accountants, identifying issues, and making necessary adjustments for presentation on tax returns
· Preparing federal and state income and franchise tax returns using OneSource Income Tax Compliance software
· Preparing calculations for estimated payments and extensions
The Requirements
· Possession of a Masters of Accountancy – Taxation degree is required.
· Candidates who are in the process of getting their Masters of Accountancy – Taxation degree will be considered as well.
· Although not required, 1-3 years corporate tax experience in a national or regional public accounting firm or 1-3 years of experience in a corporate income tax compliance department would be desirable.
· Candidate must have demonstrated knowledge of corporate income tax principles, both federal and multi-state.
· Candidate must possess excellent technology skills, including experience with Microsoft Office.
· Candidate must be well organized, with the ability to timely meet deadlines with accuracy and efficiency.
· Candidate must possess the ability to work with others as a team.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team and take on new tasks with high level of difficulty
· Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
