JOB DESCRIPTION
The Role
This position is responsible for developing and supporting the company’s IT Service Management software suites. This requires advanced knowledge on the ServiceNow platform as well as ITIL principles/concepts. This position also requires strong technical and analytical ability in programming languages/methodologies: JavaScript, Angular.js, CSS Bootstrap, Jelly, AJAX, GIT and knowledge of WebServices technologies (REST, JSON, SOAP, HTTP, SSL, XML).
As a Sr. ServiceNow Developer, you will be able to operate independently, though typically will work as part of a team with varying skillsets to create, support, and deploy production applications.
The following breakdowns of tasks and responsibilities are to help our potential candidates understand better what is expected day-to-day.
50% – Delivery & Execution:
· Performs development, configuration, administration and tuning of software applications.
· Participates in the execution of testing as part of the Quality Assurance process.
· Documents processes and procedures.
· Meets with technical leads, architects and vendor partners to determine project scope and vision, set system goals, identify and resolve system issues, ensure the system is implemented as designed and in adherence to the implementation guidelines.
· Provides technical leadership and mentors team members.
40% – Support & Enablement:
· Fields questions from other product teams or support teams
· Monitors tools and participates in conversations to encourage collaboration across product teams
· Provides application support for software running in production
· Proactively monitors production Service Level Objectives for products
· Proactively reviews the Performance and Capacity of all aspects of production: code, infrastructure, data, and message processing
10% – Learning:
· Participates in learning activities around modern software design and development core practices (communities of practice)
· Proactively views articles, tutorials, and videos to learn about new technologies and best practices being used within other technology organizations
The Requirements
· Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
· ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (required, prefer Jakarta or above)
· ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (preferred, not required)
· 3+ years on the ServiceNow platform
· 3+ years of development experience using JavaScript
· 3+ years of experience with web services technologies (REST, JSON, SOAP, HTTP, SSL, XML, and GIT)
· ITIL v3 Foundations certification (preferred)
· Experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodology – Agile methodology preferred
· Experience in an object-oriented programming language (preferably Java)
· Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
