The Role
Job Summary
The role is as an M&A insurance broker in London within a profitable and expanding global team, advising clients on, and placing, transactional risks insurance solutions. The candidate will support the Transactional Risks team in growing the M&A business within the UK & internationally ensuring the delivery of revenue targets in a compliant and ethical manner. The candidate will manage and develop client relationships and will be responsible for targeting and converting prospects. They will also be expected to maintain and build on relationships with insurers to help develop existing bespoke insurance products and new opportunities.

Principal Accountabilities

·  Conduct Risk : To put the interests of clients and the integrity of the market at the heart of the way you do business

Principal Duties/Responsibilities
Specific Responsibility
Amongst other things, this specific role will include:

·  Responsibility for developing and executing strategies for targeting centres of influences such as lawyers, accountants, funds and investment bankers (“COIs”) to generate a steady flow of business for the team and maintaining such relationships
·  Deal Execution – Manage relationships with COIs on placements and assist team members where necessary in negotiations with clients and insurers
·  Assisting with business development strategies in the UK and internationally
·  Marketing and selling the M&A team’s services to COIs
·  Training and developing the team’s knowledge in M&A and transactional insurance
·  Working on product development and innovation
·  Responsibility for revenue and growth

Client Relationship Management

·  Understand each client’s business and their insurance needs to deliver bespoke transactional insurance solutions
·  Identify primary budget holders and decision makers within clients, establish and maintain active relationships with them
·  Provide technical, industry and subject matter expertise where required
·  Draw on appropriate expertise within the team or Group for clients as required
·  Determine appropriate solutions, structure, price and placement strategies that meet each client’s needs
·  Grow existing portfolio by identifying new from existing opportunities

Business Development

·  Actively drive the sales process in relation to winning clients
·  Develop and maintain a pipeline of prospects including research, initiation of contact, meetings, responding to RFPs, new business presentations and convert sales opportunities
·  Actively identify opportunities to work with colleagues across the business to capitalise on account penetration and cross selling opportunities
·  Development of opportunities globally in this growing market

Placement Management

·  Deliver optimisation of revenue from new and existing clients through the use of the full range of appropriate placement channels and markets
·  Work closely and maintain strong working relationships with the team and market contacts as required
·  Ensure compliant processing of contracts as per FCA and contract certainty requirements
·  Ensure accurate loading of data in to the core broking system within agreed time and quality standards
·  Design programme and pricing structures based on market and client knowledge
·  Deliver bespoke insurance solutions on a diverse range of M&A transactions with tight deal timeframes
·  Develop and build upon the knowledge and skills of the team members

Operational and Service Delivery

·  Deliver high levels of client service in line with the standard operating procedures for client activity
·  Proactively develop appropriate solutions and proposals for clients to ensure optimum client retention rates
·  Communicate effectively with clients, associates, markets and others where appropriate to maximise service delivery levels
·  Ensure adherence to Group policies, procedures and all regulatory requirements
·  Provide feedback on corrective action required to retain clients or enhance process performance, actively supporting the implementation of any actions that are put in place

Broking

·  Ability to understand a client or prospect’s business, situations, opportunities, problems and key issues
·  Ability to manage relationships and negotiate placement with the market
·  Prepare client and prospect presentations considering the impact on client profitability
·  Support relationships with underwriters in London and international markets
·  Experience in pricing and designing conceptual programmes
·  Participate in information gathering exercises Ensure ongoing compliance with Willis Towers Watson guidelines and procedures
·  A thorough understanding and an expert real time user for all relevant systems

Other

·  Support the overall operational governance and decision making process
·  Support management and Willis Towers Watson in the management of risks

Required Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge, Experience
Qualifications:

·  Corporate Law Experience or experience gained in a similar role within aBroker orInsurer

Skills:

·  Incisive and confident with a robust commercial approach and a commitment to finding solutions
·  Ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels of management as well as build effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
·  Track record of delivering high levels of client service
·  Skilled at building effective relationships, at all levels, with clients, prospects, associates, insurers and external specialists
·  Ability to represent Willis Towers Watson with integrity and credibility
·  Strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills
·  Experience of working with and adhering to processes and systems to support client service delivery
