JOB DESCRIPTION
The FINMAR Carrier Relationship Management Team Leader is responsible for leading the North America based FINMAR Marketing Services team that provides services (data analytics, carrier advocacy, pipeline management and reporting) to FINMAR-qualified carriers. This is highly aligned with Group objectives as it involves enhanced market selection capabilities to support better service for FINEX clients and has the potential for revenue growth.
The Role
The FINMAR Carrier Relationship Management Team Leader oversees the North America-based FINMAR Marketing Services (FMS) team responsible for building and fostering relationships with FINMAR- qualified carriers that write FINEX lines of coverage in North America. The FINMAR Marketing Services team provides data analytics, carrier advocacy, pipeline management and reporting services to those carriers, with the ultimate aim of helping them to improve their value proposition, their competitiveness and their visibility within the FINEX line of business in North America.
Major Accountabilities :
· Build, develop and lead a team of four (4) FINMAR Client Relationship Managers operating out of New York, but responsible for the entirety of the FINMAR client relationship throughout the United States
· Manage the day to day operations of the FINMAR team in New York but report into and liaise closely with the FINMAR Practice Team Leader and FINMAR Client Relationship Manager Team Leader (International) based out of Ipswich in the UK. This position has a matric reporting relationship into FINEX’s North American operations.
· Develop relationships with FINMAR colleagues in Mumbai and Ipswich to monitor finances, manage budgets and develop analytical data
· Work closely with members of the FMS team worldwide to ensure integrity, accuracy and completeness of data and to ensure a consistent global delivery of services.
· Gain an in-depth understanding of FINEX products and related insurance, working closely with the FINEX placing/claims teams in North America, to fully understand client requirements and the services we provide
· Build relationships with clients (insurers) while monitoring and measuring performance against agreed service levels for quoting, placement, policy production and claims service.
· Regularly attend meetings with clients (insurers) for who detailed reports and analyses are processed
· Analyze, interpret and present detailed analytical client (insurer) reports
· Escalate any insurer performance issues to the FINMAR Practice Leader in a timely manner
· Liaise between insurers and FINEX brokers and FINEX leaders on pipeline meetings
· Liaise with overall Carrier Management group within CRB/Broking to maintain consistency of communication with insurers
The Requirements
· 8+ years’ experience in commercial insurance, either in brokerage, underwriting or business development
· Exposure to and knowledge of financial lines clients, markets and products (preferable)
· 3+ years’ experience leading teams and strategies
· BA/BS degree in related field of study
· Licenses as required by state law
· Ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships with all stakeholders including insurer partners.
· Well-developed negotiations, persuasion and influencing skills
· Broad knowledge of industry routines, including coverage, placement, underwriting, pricing and placement.
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to gather and present information and to interact in a constructive and positive manner with clients, insurance company personnel, coworkers and vendors.
· Excellent problem solving skills as well as the capability to make decisions
· Exceptional time management and organizational skills with a track record of success working against tight deadlines.
· Knowledge of agency management and technology systems including Power Point, Excel and Outlook
· Ability to work autonomously or within the team, while working towards tight deadlines
· Must demonstrate attention to detail, with a high level focus on quality
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Flexible approach to undertake additional responsibilities within FMS as and when required
