JOB DESCRIPTION

The Compliance Officer will assist in the management and co-ordination of Willis Towers Watson Group Compliance policies and
procedures for certain business areas as required. The compliance officer will identify and advise on the implementation of
regulatory requirements and the creation and maintenance of relevant processes to enable standards to
be met. The officer will also provide guidance and training on regulatory topics as necessary. Insurance experience would be preferred but is not essential. 

The Role

Assist with Willis Towers Watson Compliance policies and procedures  

·  Identify and assess the compliance risks applicable to the business. 
·  Provide support and guidance to the business in understanding its responsibilities and
obligations under relevant Willis Towers Watson Group and firm specific policies (e.g. AntiBribery
& Corruption, Conflicts of interest, Financial Crime, Gifts & Entertainment, KYC,
Complaints, Sanctions, Third Party Payments, Financial Promotions); respond to queries on the
interpretation of relevant compliance policies. 
·  Discuss promptly with relevant Business Unit management any relevant compliance or regulatory
issues; report the issue as appropriate; and agree the corrective action to be taken including
responsibility, timelines and review date. Compare and analyse MI produced by the business, Compliance Monitoring reports and internal
/external audit reports and discuss findings with the business. 
Assist with regulatory issues 

·  Identify new regulations applicable to the business. 
Assist with Compliance training 

·  Identify compliance training needs within the business and assist in the implementation of relevant
training needs, taking advantage of available UK wide compliance online training. 
Report outcomes 

·  Provide regular updates to Business unit management. Updates to cover:
·  Actions taken to manage the compliance risks 
·  Regulatory developments and issues 
·  Attend relevant Business Unit management meetings wherever possible. 
Manage internal relationships 

·  Maintain positive relationships with the business. 
·  Foster close relationships with other business support areas, including Group Legal, Group Risk
and Internal Audit. 
·  Co-ordinate with Internal Audit on compliance matters where required 

The Requirements

·  Degree qualified or equivalent. It is likely that the job holder may also have a relevant professional qualification –
legal, accountancy or business.
·  Proactive rather than reactive. 
·  Team player with good interpersonal and influencing skills. 
·  Ability to work under pressure to tight timelines and without direct supervision.
·  Organised and methodical. 
·  Excellent analytical problem-solving skills. 
·  Strong communication skills, both orally and in writing. 
·  Commercial awareness.
·  Fluent business English essential. 
·  IT literate – knowledge of Microsoft office packages needed.
