Job description
This is an Analyst position in Insurance-Linked Securities (ILS). You will be responsible for working closely with team members as part of a strategically critical effort in ILS.

The ILS team structures, originates, and distributes ILS and associated solutions on a global basis. We aim to efficiently connect risk with capital both by using today’s ILS tools and by innovating to develop even better ILS solutions for tomorrow. The ILS team works side-by-side with our reinsurance intermediary colleagues to deliver ILS solutions for clients as well as to develop the ILS business for Willis Towers Watson more broadly. It effectively serves as the securities-licensed debt capital markets execution arm of the intermediary business.
ILS includes catastrophe bonds, sidecars, fund structures and various other securitization and derivative products. ILS is an increasingly important part of the insurance and reinsurance landscape with nearly $100 billion in invested capital at present, representing a fivefold increase over the last decade.
ILS offers insurers, reinsurers, businesses and government entities access to risk-bearing investor capital to efficiently complement insurance and reinsurance company capital. In addition, investors achieve favorable risk-adjusted returns that provide significant portfolio diversification. This benefit mix continues to attract both new investors as well as additional capital allocations from long term investors suggesting ample potential for continued growth.
The Role
· Prepare and edit presentations and other materials for clients
· Coordinate closely with affiliated reinsurance and insurance brokers
· Communicate and interact with deal team members
· Support transaction execution in securities and derivatives
· Support sales and trading
· Manage several projects at once and work effectively as an individual and as part of a team
· Prepare written content for publications
· Support new product development
The Requirements
· Strong written and oral communications skills
· Exceptional focus and attention to details
· Combination of strong quantitative and analytical skills
· Demonstrated skill in solving complex problems
· Assertiveness, initiative (self-starter), strong work ethic, team focus
· Ability to learn quickly and take on new responsibilities
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
· BA degree with strong academic qualifications
· Strong interest in building a career in the (re)insurance / capital markets industry
· No prior financial services and/or reinsurance experience required
