JOB DESCRIPTION

For the Risk Analyst position, we are seeking an individual with strong technical knowledge in Risk Finance and Policy Technical Knowledge. 

The Role


The Risk Analyst is responsible for preparation and maintenance of underwriting data, evaluation of insurance contracts, communication of programs to business units, and departmental accounting having to do with the implementation of the corporation’s property and casualty risk management programs.

Major Accountabilities:

·  Collect and manage current and historical exposure information and prepare annual underwriting submissions for all risk financing/insurance programs
·  Analyze insurance data for quarterly reporting
·  Manage the implementation of the RMIS integration system
·  Review insurance policies received for accuracy
·  Preparation of Policy wordings/ insurance coverage summaries
·  Assist with audits of insurance programs
·  Arrange for timely payment of all costs associated with the cost of risk; maintain accurate records of risk management expenses, including loss costs for reporting purposes
·  Assist with preparation of annual insurance and risk management budget; including cost of risk allocations to business units
·  Analyze cost benefit of various programs and procedures within risk management
·  Provide ongoing risk management support as needed

The Requirements

·  Bachelor’s degree with major in finance, accounting or risk management desired
·  CRM, ARM designation or CPCU course work a plus
·  Minimum of three years within a risk management environment or insurance company or brokerage experience handling national or global accounts
·  Must have recent experience working with large national or multi-national accounts on coverage issues
·  Experience working on large complex accounts within Risk Management Environment
·  Experience in commercial lines Property, General Liability, Umbrella, Foreign Liability, Work Comp, Medical Professional Liability, DBA, Marine Liability and Aviation insurance programs
·  Experience working with contractors, (government sector experience helpful)
·  Experience with developing proposals (RFP’s)
·  Provide guidance in policy and coverage interpretation to operating company personnel
·  Must possess strong sense of urgency and attention to detail
·  Special emphasis on analysis capabilities, must be detail oriented and comfortable working with numbers
·  Experienced in Windows environment, Word, Excel, Access and use of on-line claims data systems. RMIS experience a plus. Heavy emphasis on Excel skills
·  Time management skills, flexible and able to handle a variety of tasks simultaneously
