Client teams within
Willis Towers Watson are supported by a network of actuarial service centers
across different regions. The Actuarial Valuation (AV) team in the GPTC is an
internal service center that provides high quality and efficient valuation work
for pension and post retirement plans for Canada, Hong Kong, Japan, Taiwan,
Korea and other countries. Work performed by the team includes actuarial
funding and accounting valuations, system implementation and migration,
costings and others.
The Role
As an Actuarial Analyst,
you will contribute, as part of a team, to a range of retirement valuation and
accounting projects. You will have the opportunity to enhance your knowledge of
retirement plans; employ the most cutting edge tools and resources to complete
required project; and enhance your project management skills.
· You will partner with team members on the following
performance objectives:
· Follow set process and utilize detailed tasks and steps
to produce quality projects
· Complete actuarial valuations and prepare valuation
reports for consulting offices
· Complete analysis and reconciliations of plan
participant data
· Reconcile plan assets
· Work with the Project Leader to ensure that each
project is completed on time and meets quality standards
· Respond to all requests and communications effectively
and efficiently
· Contribute to profitability by monitoring own time
spent on projects and maintaining accurate time records.
· Applies consulting, actuarial, and project management
expertise in the areas of retirement plan design, compliance, and risk and
financial management. Consults with clients to align all retirement plans
to meet business objectives. Requires actuarial designation.
The Requirements
· Bachelor’s Degree required,
preferably in a program with heavy emphasis on actuarial science,
mathematics, statistics or engineering
· Proven mathematical aptitude
· Organized, detail-oriented,
effective time management skills
· Strong written and verbal
communication skills and a demonstrated ability to interact with
colleagues at all levels
· Strong client service
orientation
· Ability to work both
independently and on client teams
· Ability to ask the right
questions and seek help where appropriate; good problem solving ability
· Sense of accountability; owning one’s work and taking
pride in it
· Strong Mandarin communication skills; both in written
and verbal
· Previous experience on
retirement plans, a plus
· Actuarial exams/designation, a
plus
