WhatsOn Media is a progressive, left wing media company based in Birmingham city centre. We are a platform for students and young people. We stand for multiculturalism, LGBTIQ rights and a progressive society.

We have an exciting position available for an intern who is keen to gain editorial, writing and journalistic experience.

Duties will include: Researching worldwide events and writing listings, writing catchy news articles for our website, assisting the editorial staff with daily tasks, contributing to our printed magazine, attending meetings.

This is a great opportunity if you are a student or recent graduate who wants to build up your CV. It is also a fabulous way to get your writing printed and develop your online skills.

Please note that this is an unpaid position but there will be opportunities to attend music and cultural events in order to review them on behalf of the magazine.

Desired profile

The ideal candidate will be an English/Journalism student or graduate or similar.

Students who are studying towards other degrees who are interested in writing are also welcome to apply.

We require someone who can attend the office for at least one day a week. However we encourage our interns to come in whenever they can to develop their skills.
