Editorial Intern Vacancy

WhatsOn is a progressive international media company with leading print & web products.

We are seeking an Editorial Intern to work in our office in Birmingham City Centre on a full-term basis (£20 daily expenses).

Your responsibilities would be as follows:

* Developing/proofreading editorial and digital content (features, listings, reports, reviews, news etc.)
* Maintaining website content in line with the WhatsOn house style
* Continually improving/updating the website and fixing any related technical issues
* Creating/editing/uploading videos
* Updating WhatsOn social media pages - Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube
* PR - contacting potential interview subjects and contributors
* Arranging/interviewing subjects to obtain exclusive magazine content
* Liaising with sales, production and editorial team members

To apply you must have the following:

* Graduate accreditation with a degree in English, Media, Journalism or similar
* A minimum of 2 years' experience working within a media environment
* Strong knowledge of web development and social media management (good digital skills - specifically with video development and production)
* Excellent copy-writing competency and an eye for grammar and punctuation
* A hard-working ethos and ability to meet tight deadlines
* An enthusiastic approach to work
* A passion for culture, music and progressive ideals
