Senior Technician

Job description

My client is a multi-disciplinary practice providing Architecture and a range of complementary design and consultancy services including Urban Design and Masterplanning, Landscape Architecture, Environmental Services, Project Management and Planning.

My client is now looking for a Senior Technician to join their Transport Planning team. Your role would be to provide Transport Planning through advanced technical design and modelling. This will include working on projects throughout London and the UK.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Modelling and design work using transport modelling software (ARCADY, PICADY, LINSIG, TRICS)
• Site analysis and feasibility studies
• Street design, traffic management and development layouts
• Highway design and capacity assessments
• Working on designs for all modes of transport
• Assessing viability of highway infrastructure
• Key stakeholder management across house building sector
• Developing major projects including regeneration sites
  

You’ll need to have:

• Strong knowledge of AutoCAD 2014
• Proficient in highway design standards (geometry, visibility, capacity)
• Be a proficient user of Microsoft Office programs (including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Powerpoint)
• Ability to interpret data (e.g. traffic or speed surveys)
• Good understanding of the preparation of transport assessments and travel plans
• Good time management and able to work to deadlines
• Professionally qualified or working towards qualification
• Strong team player
• Able to communicate clearly to work colleagues and clients
