Job description
Ward & Rider Solicitors have been offering legal services to the people of Coventry and the surrounding areas for over 65 years.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an apprenticeship at our Coventry offices. The role will be diverse and interesting and there will be training in many areas of the working environment.
The successful candidate will be computer literate with a keen interest in giving great customer service - the rest we will teach you!
The main responsibility of this role will be working in our postroom, helping out with opening and franking of post, photocopying and running of errands.
Some of the responsibilities of the role will be:-
- Reception - to help cover reception, using the switchboard, being the first point of contact for clients/barristers/medical professionals, etc and offering great customer service both in our reception area and our shop front office.
- Administration - data input, filing, finding post, etc.
- Out of office - attending clients’ homes to witness Will signings with our Wills & Probate lawyers.
- Audio typing - if you have a spare minute! - learning to audio type which will give you good grounding to continue your learning and to become a legal secretary if that is the route you’d like to pursue.
In-house training in all aspects of the role will be provided and you will gain invaluable work experience in our busy office.
The plan is to complete an NVQ Level 2 course within twelve months so that at the end of your apprenticeship you will have the tools to take the next step on the career ladder, which will hopefully be within Ward & Rider if there is an appropriate role available.
To be considered for this apprenticeship you will need a C or above in English and Maths or equivalent grades. You will also need to be confident, friendly, self-motivated, of smart appearance, able work as part of a team or alone, well spoken with a good telephone manner.
