Wadhurst Park Paid Summer Internship - Data Visualisation

  • Internship
  • South East England

Job description

Wadhurst Park is a 689 hectare (1,700 acre) private estate within the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We follow best practice guidelines for low-intensity farming and semi-natural habitat restoration and conservation. We practice evidence-led conservation, analysing our survey data and feeding the results back into practical management. We review our work, both on local and landscape scales, aiming to create and maintain diverse, healthy and connected habitats.
We are looking for a summer intern to work on data visualisation. The intern will look at how to improve the interpretation and presentation of ecological data and/or the interpretation of historical data relating to time period and geographical distribution.

The intern will be primarily based at Wadhurst Park in East Sussex, for six weeks during July and August 2017. The internship pays £500 a week, for 40 hours a week. Accommodation will be provided (for time spent at Wadhurst Park), but the intern is responsible for their own food, telephone and utility bills. A valid UK driving licence is required (nearest public transport and village are 4 miles from the estate).

The intern will attend an induction day and will give a presentation at the end of the internship, both in London.
