Graduate Trainee Regulatory Officer, Birmingham, Negotiable Salary + Bens
An excellent opportunity for a chemist who is interested in moving into regulatory affairs or for a graduate with at least 12 months chemical regulatory or product stewardship experience. You will join the regulatory Affairs / Product Stewardship team at an international chemical company and provide regulatory support for an international product range - they are prepared to provide training in the international regulations - you must be very interested in regulatory affairs, have strong attention to detail, good report writing skills and confident communication skills along with experience in the chemical, coatings or packaging industry.
This regulatory affairs team provides regulatory support for a global product range. You will be working with highly experienced colleagues who are happy to provide training and mentoring, and you will gain exposure to global chemical regulations. Duties will involves assessing all raw materials, used in new and existing products, to ensure regulatory compliance. You will review product formula composition and identify any substances of concern; you will also create regulatory compliance statements for customers and create/maintain detailed product files for review by regulators. To aid the regulatory support, you will maintain a regulatory database including information on all raw materials, formulated products, compliance certificates/statements and any other regulatory information. Other duties will include regulatory support to the food contact group and customers, supporting dossier preparation and prioritising work to resolve any areas of regulatory concern or documentation discrepancies.
Suitable candidates will have experience in R&D or development chemistry in the chemical, coatings, packaging or related sector. Ideally you will have had exposure to regulatory affairs / legislation as part of your current role although extensive experience isn’t necessary. You must be able to prove you are interested in a desk based regulatory position and that you have the key personal attributes that will enable you to be successful in the role.
