Job description
VOW have an opportunity for an Assistant Demand Planner. You will work alongside the Demand Planning team reporting into the Demand Planning Manager to help optimise the demand management process for the business product portfolio using the new Demand Forecasting tool and S&OP process.
We are looking for a commercially astute candidate. You will ideally have demonstratable experience with Supply Chain software systems/statistical forecast modeling in a FMCG business
The responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Basic forecasting activities associated with customers and products
- Demand Planning -
create, maintain and analyse statistical and net forecast models for customers, sales channels, regional distribution centres and companies as well as Market intelligence and forecast information gathered from sales, marketing, merchandising and finance. Demand Planning is the integration point into the sales and operational planning process - Develop statistical forecasts at multiple levels of aggregation for multiple time horizons as part of a demand planning function
- Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop statistical forecast models, and evaluate forecast results
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and customer finance to understand demand forecast drivers and refine the forecast model to reflect updated sales and marketing assumptions
- Use and maintain the Demand Planning software as the primary forecasting system tool
- Closely coordinate and communicate customer action plans with Inventory Management
- Undertake data analysis as required, understand the results and implement any resulting changes
Skills, knowledge and qualities required:
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Be numerate and analytical, with excellent communication skills
- Be a tenacious, self motivated, highly organised self-starter that actively seeks imaginative ways to overcome obstacles and seeks to make a difference
- Have a demand forecasting/inventory background, together with advance MS Excel and MS Access skills
- Experience in using ERP & MRP systems is advantageous
- This vacancy would also suit a recent graduate
