Group Treasury is responsible for providing efficient and effective financial infrastructure, capital management and capital structure, funding of group operations, and external relationships within the financial area for the Group. Group Treasury head office is located in Gothenburg, Sweden. Group Treasury is also present in Singapore, Beijing, Greensboro, and Curitiba, Brazil.
As a member of the Back Office team at Group Treasury, the contribution focuses directly on the Group Treasury mission to secure the Volvo Group’s global payment capability.
This position performs a vital role in making sure that financial obligations of Group Treasury are met through securing and developing efficient, value creating and modern Group payment processes, primary focusing on PERFORMING and TRANSFORMING, in cooperation with internal and external stakeholders and utilizing the Volvo Group financial infrastructure. This includes cost efficient internal netting structures, the execution and monitoring of cash transactions arising from FX, interest rate swaps, derivatives, and loan positions.
Back Office is primarily an operational department with daily deliveries, but a successful candidate must be a self-starter who can operate and make decisions without management oversight and will be tasked with defining and improving cost efficient delivery platforms, operations, processes, and the use of new technologies. The position works closely with all departments within the Treasury organization, Volvo Group companies, banks, and other financial institutions.
Back Office is a global function and the team has colleagues in Sweden, USA, Singapore and Brazil. The position is based out of Greensboro, North Carolina.
Main Activities and Responsibilities
· Responsible for managing and executing day-to-day internal and external financial payments in multiple countries and currencies.
· Recommend and implement improvements in processes and methods within payment processing management and related Back Office activities, including digitalization of processes and modern use of data.
· Ensure the financial obligations of the Volvo Group are met arising from multicurrency cross-border loans, interest rate and foreign exchange derivatives and swaps.
· Responsible for monitoring cash transactions with Volvo companies and banks and ensure transactions comply with Volvo policy including cash balances and anti-money laundering/fraud.
· Manage and resolve bank fee discrepancies and ongoing bank relationships both regionally and globally.
· Identify, evaluate and educate the different departments within Volvo companies on cash forecasting, liquidity to minimize forecasting variances.
· Manage incoming wire transfers and outgoing wire transfers, both cross border and local
· Supervise and coordinate banking activities within cash pools.
· Coordinate and settle Netting Center activities locally and globally as part of the Volvo Group financial Infrastructure.
· Manage compliance with banks in relations to Dodd Frank Act regulations.
· Drive and participate in global projects to finetune and optimize processes relating to payment systems, reconciliation activities and bank infrastructure.

· BA/BS degree in Finance/Business Administration
· Experience in a Treasury or related internship
· Exposure to PowerBi reporting, and collecting and analyzing complex data.
· Familiarity with basic accounting principles as well as high ethical values
· Critical thinking and inquisitive mind
· Sophisticated Excel skills and strong modeling and financial valuation skills
· Can provide accurate, timely, and reliable reporting and controls
· Ability to grasp the “big picture” and underlying strategic issues
· Ability to develop solutions to sophisticated problems and posses a high attention to detail
· Ability to bring new perspective to challenges and effectively communicate advantages to such perspectives/ideas
· You feel energized by working both independently and interdependently, have proven skills in cross-functional collaboration
