What you will do
At Powertrain Engineering, you will contribute to the transformation of our company, the transport industry, and society at large. You will be responsible for configuring and tuning complex embedded software (ESW) to include the right components and secure features expected by a product or project. You will deliver quality-assured embedded software and the associated documentation to production and control your software delivery plan.
Part of your work time will be dedicated to following and executing verification of your software and providing status reports. You will also be regularly developing test cases, running investigations, drawing conclusions from critical analysis, and delivering associated documentation, aiming to ensure the quality of our embedded software deliveries.
It involves being knowledgeable in our systems' electronic structure, SW architecture, CAN protocol, and global test environment, and having a good understanding of medium-duty / heavy-duty vehicle applications.
Your future team
You will be part of a team of sixteen engineers and one intern, working on hardware development, embedded systems, software creation, verification, and release. We work truly globally, being responsible for delivering solutions used in many parts of the world. You will collaborate daily with the other sites developing propulsion systems in Sweden, France, the USA, and India.

· Master of Science (equivalent to Engineering degree in Brazil) - Electrical, Mechatronics, or equivalent;
· Proven previous professional experience in embedded software configuration, development, or verification;
· Good knowledge of:
· Specific tools such as Matlab/Simulink, CANalyzer, Git;
· Measurement, calibration, and diagnostic software (VISION, INCA…);
· Programming languages (C, C++, or Python);
· Desirable knowledge of the software architecture used in Powertrain’s Electronic Control Modules and powertrain strategies related to Engine and After-treatment control, and how Control Systems and Calibration strategies impact transport solutions;
· Experience with CI/CD tools and processes will be considered a merit;
· Fluent in English and Portuguese (Written & Verbal).

Your main activities will include:
· Deliver and follow up on embedded software until serial production;
· Ensure commonality between project configurations to limit software variants;
· Follow up on software modifications readiness, interfacing with embedded solution leaders, product owners, and other stakeholders for preparing the deliveries;
· Solve problems in cooperation with the software developers and continuous integration teams;
· Interface with several colleagues and stakeholders in our multi-site organization, creating strong networks driving proactive and constructive cooperation;
· Participate in the cross-functional teams' sprint demo meetings, ensuring a critical look at the development to match configuration criteria;
· Develop automated test methods; create and update test scope, test specifications, and test cases;
· Actively propose and initiate actions on continuous improvement.
