Position Summary:
Pre-Painting Operator is responsible for preparation of surfaces to make components and products ready to be painted, i.e. cleaning, sanding, and/or masking surface to be painted.
Core Responsibilities:
• Punctuality and daily attendance.
• Moderate to heavy lifting of parts from and to baskets.
• Maintain quality standard for castings.
• Perform required 5S program to meet department goals.
• Hand polishing castings to quality standards.
• Surface treatment of castings to seal porosity.
• Performs other duties, tasks, and responsibilities as assigned by management to support Volvo Penta goals and objectives.
Skills and Knowledge Required:
• Must have good coordination and ability to stand, move, and bend.
• Requires on-the-job training.
• Must be able to lift heavy parts.

• Dust mask
• Safety shoes
• Gloves
• Hand polishing tools
• Drag finishing equipment
• Hearing protection
• Environment is dusty and noisy
Education and Experience:
• High school graduate or equivalent required
