What you will do
Join Volvo Group Australia as a Logistics Engineering Intern and be part of our mission to drive prosperity through innovative transport and infrastructure solutions. Based in our Wacol, Australia office, this role provides a unique opportunity to work alongside experienced Logistics Engineers, supporting the design, development, and improvement of logistics processes.
Key Responsibilities
· Process Development: Assist in designing logistics processes and flows, with an understanding of the end-to-end (E2E) logistics supply chain.
· IT Systems & Physical Flows: Gain knowledge of Logistics IT systems, aligning physical material flows with information flow in the warehouse.
· Material Handling Equipment: Contribute to the design and construction of material handling equipment for optimized material movement.
· Capacity Planning: Support capacity planning for resources including personnel, equipment, and warehouse space.
· Troubleshooting & Auditing: Help with troubleshooting, root cause analyses, and documentation of issues, as well as conducting regular process audits.
· Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement KAIZEN initiatives, promote VPS principles, and participate actively in focus improvement areas.
· Health, Safety, and Compliance: Uphold a safe working environment, promote a safety-conscious culture, and ensure adherence to VGA’s Environmental Policy and Workplace Health & Safety policies.
Who are you?
Qualifications & Experience
· Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Engineering .
· 1-2 years of experience in supply chain or logistics is preferred but not required; project management exposure is beneficial.
· Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with business analytics tools .
· Knowledge of ERP systems and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) is an asset.
· Understanding of production and supply chain processes.
· Excellent negotiation and communication skills with the ability to work well with colleagues across various levels.
· A team player with a continuous improvement mindset and a proactive approach.
