About this Role

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic intern to join our Lean, Quality and Environment Team. The intern will play a key role in supporting our continuous improvement initiatives by focusing on problem-solving, Kaizen methodologies, quality enhancement, supply planning, and the integration of artificial intelligence in Lean practices and Quality on Supply Chain.

This position is in Greensboro, NC.

What you will do

·  Assist in identifying and analyzing processes that require improvement within the organization.
·  Collect and analyze data related to quality control, supply chain management, and production efficiency.
·  Research and explore AI tools that can enhance data analysis and process optimization.
·  Utilize Lean tools (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagram) to identify root causes of problems and inefficiencies.
·  Develop and implement Kaizen plans to drive process improvements, including setting metrics for success.
·  Manage activities related to quality compliance (meetings, documents, feedback, coaching, etc.)
·  Prepare reports summarizing findings, improvements achieved, and recommendations for full-scale implementation.
·  Present results and recommendations to the Quality, Environment, and Lean team.
·  Utilize your skills to analyze key components of the supply chain (suppliers, processes, internal and external customer service, etc.)
·  Drive initiatives to increase communication and engagement regarding Lean, Quality and Environment
·  Describe procedures – Governance

Who are you?

Minimum Education and Program Requirements
•    Applicants must be currently enrolled in academic courses and pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Quality, Environmental, or Industrial Engineering, or other related degree at an accredited school and have completed 30 semester hours of undergraduate studies prior to the start of the internship. 
•    Must be enrolled in a degree seeking program with the intent to return to school at the completion of the internship
•    Must be in good academic standing with a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.75/4.0
•    Fall interns are scheduled to work up to 30 hours per week
•    Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
Professional Objectives
•    Project Presentations: Formal project presentations will be required to be presented to peers, management, and senior leaders within the organization.
•    Performance Feedback: Throughout the entire experience, the manager will provide verbal and written feedback on work performance. At the end of the internship, each intern will be given a formal written evaluation based on their work performance.

For all intern and co-op positions, the hourly range is set at $16.00 - $46.00.The hourly rate for these roles is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, academic classification, and degree seeking area of study.
