Who we are
Volvo Group Trucks Operations (GTO) is the truck industrial entity within the Volvo Group responsible for Truck manufacturing, including Cab & Vehicle Assembly, Powertrain Production, Logistics Services, Parts Distribution and Remanufacturing. Powertrain production is one of the world's largest manufacturers of heavy-duty diesel engines for commercial vehicles. Powertrain production provides diesel engines and transmission systems to the Volvo Group Business Areas.
What you will do
We are currently looking for a student to work with our Production Group as Production Engineer . The student should be prepared to work in a challenging and fast-paced environment; gaining experience and knowledge in various aspects of production engineering. As a valued member of Production within GTO, the student will have the opportunity to work directly with production, quality and engineering focusing on Production processes and improvements. GTO’s goal is to contribute to the student’s development, as well as providing an opportunity for the student to work in a business environment within the manufacturing industry. This position will report to Production Manager.
· Production process review and improvements
· Quality process review and improvements
· Data analysis focus on standards and repeatability
· Help facilitate continuous improvement around the facility and identify opportunities on your own to implement
· Participate in project planning, implementation and improvements
· Works with the production teams to reduce non-value add activities

· Applicant must be currently enrolled and pursuing an engineering degree at an accredited school and have completed 30 semester hours of undergraduate studies prior to the start of the co-op/internship.
· Applicants must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.75 and minimum of 30 credit hours.
· Strong communication skills.

For all intern and co-op positions, the hourly range is set at $16.00 - $46.00.The hourly rate for these roles is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, academic classification, and degree seeking area of study.
