Position Description

Purpose/Description

The internship role provides students with the opportunity to apply academic knowledge and skills in a professional environment, and to support/promote the graduate's career goals through contact with professionals in their field of study. The purpose of this position is to support the Logistics Preparation Department, particularly the preparation of new suppliers delivering North American Cab & Vehicle assembly plants.

Core responsibilities

Intern will work directly with the Logistics Project Managers (Log PM) & Logistics managers for Supplier Preparation (LMP). Main tasks include, but are not limited to:
·  Manage small scale projects like continuous improvement projects
· 
Develop, improve and implement methods & tools in product projects including templates, KPI's, way-of-working, etc

· 
Initial phase of training and development within area of assignment.

· 
Proficient use of equipment, instrumentation and software/hardware used within area of assignment.

· 
Miscellaneous Logistics Preparation assignments as training and abilities progress.

·  Applicants must be skilled in Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint)
·  Microsoft Office 365 apps knowledge
·  Microsoft Power BI knowledge would be a plus

Minimum education and experience

·  Applicant must be currently enrolled and pursuing a degree in Supply Chain or related engineering/technology field at an accredited school and have completed 30 semester hours of undergraduate studies prior to the start of the internship.
·  Applicants must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0.
·  Strong communication skills.
Expected Commitment

This internship will require up to 30 hours per week during the spring 2021 semester, with the specific working schedule to be agreed upon with the hiring manager.
Interns will be expected to spend as much of their internship time as possible working in the office. However, due to the unpredictable nature of the ongoing pandemic, the manager may approve the intern to work a portion of their time from home if required.
