Purpose/Description: 

This internship supports the operational efficiency of Volvo Fleet Management within New Business Models.  The role provides hands-on experience in operational support, data management, and administrative processes that enable efficient delivery of Volvo Fleet Solutions.  The intern will gain exposure to cross-functional collaboration, business model innovation, and customer-facing operational workflows.

 
Core Responsibilities:

·  Accounts Payable & Financial Support
·  Assist with invoice processing, including verifying accuracy and ensuring compliance with the 3-way matching principle.
·  Support purchase order creation, tracking, and reconciliation.
·  Coordinate with Finance to resolve discrepancies or documentation issues.

 

·  Operational Support for Fleet Management
·  Help organize and maintain fleet records, agreements, and program documentation.
·  Support Fleet Managers in monitoring program performance and preparing materials for customer reviews.
·  Assist in tracking machine onboarding, offboarding, utilization, and service-related data.

 

·  Data & Performance Tracking
·  Maintain and update key performance indicators (KPIs) related to Fleet Operations and New Business Models.
·  Support reporting and analysis that help identify trends and opportunities to improve operational efficiency.
·  Cross-Functional Collaboration
·  Assist with administrative tasks that support both Fleet Management and Finance teams.
·  Contribute to continuous improvement of processes and documentation.
·  Other Duties as Assigned

Provide general administrative and project support to the Fleet Operations leadership.

 

Critical Competencies:

Foundational Accounting Knowledge

Understanding of the 3-way matching principle (invoice, purchase order, and receiving report alignment).

 

Analytical & Organizational Skills

Ability to work with data sets, maintain accuracy, and manage multiple tasks effectively.

 

Independence & Initiative

Works well with minimal supervision and proactively seeks solutions.

 

Communication & Collaboration

Comfortable working across Finance, Fleet Management, and Digital/IT departments.

 

Attention to Detail

Ensures accuracy in financial documentation, data entry, and report generation.

Minimum Education and Experience:

·  Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office applications. Specifically Excel.
·  Applicants must be currently enrolled and pursuing a B.S. in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, at an accredited school and have completed 30 semester hours prior to starting of the internship.
·  Must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.75.
·  Spring interns may work up to 30 hours per week.

For all intern and co-op positions, the hourly range is set at $17.00 - $46.00. The hourly rate for these roles is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, academic classification, and degree seeking area of study. In addition to these factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer.
