About this Role

This internship is an entry point to the finance function within Volvo Financial Services. The role will report to one of our senior finance leaders and will gain experience through planned rotations in: Accounting, Financial Planning, Data Analytics, Treasury Operations, and Capital Markets. This opportunity is located in Greensboro, North Carolina. This internship will follow full-time schedule during the summer with an option to continue on a part-time schedule over the fall term.

What you will do

FOCUS AREAS:

·  Accounting : Month-end closing, journal entries, account reconciliations, daily wires, internal controls, and audit support
·  Financial Planning : Business intelligence and monthly or long-term planning, data analysis and business area support, financial modeling, trend analysis
·  Data Analytics : Develop visualizations and advanced analytics, work with IT to reconcile data warehouse and other data sources
·  Treasury Operations : Daily cash forecasting, short-term debt management and forecasting, long-term debt management and matched-funding actions, support for large commercial transactions
·  Capital Markets : Syndication and Securitization pool selection, support servicing of syndicated and securitized contracts, coordinate credit and documentation packages
·  Learn and understand the financial services business and how the finance function supports all areas of the business 
·  Other duties as required.

Who are you?

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

·  Applicants must be currently enrolled and pursuing a 4-year degree in Finance / Business / Economics / Data Analytics at an accredited school
·  Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75
·  Highly motivated, dynamic person who has a knack for detail, organization, patience, and communication with others and is a problem solver
·  Proficient with Microsoft Office
·  Must work well within a team environment
·  Excellent-time management/organizational skills
·  Excellent English oral and written communication skills 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

·  Strong analytical skills
·  Creative thinker
·  Passion for quality execution
·  Proven organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and work effectively on multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
·  Effective written and verbal communication skills.

For all intern and co-op positions, the hourly range is set at $17.00 - $46.00. The hourly rate for these roles is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, academic classification, and degree seeking area of study. In addition to these factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer.
