At CAST (Common Architecture Share Technology) within Vehicle Engineering, we are now looking for a Director Corporate Standards Volvo Group to join our dynamic, innovative and ambitious Leadership Team to play a crucial role in the future of our CAST ecosystem.

Our organization within Vehicle Engineering, CAST, is a global function that has the responsibility to drive and coordinate the Volvo Group principles for Common Architecture & Share Technology.

Within CAST, Corporate Standards Department is a Volvo Group-common resource organized within Group Trucks Technology, with the mission to secure quality and reduce product costs through standardization. Our stakeholders are mainly product development departments within the Volvo Group. We develop standards and provide training in connection with the developed standards in close cooperation with our stakeholders.
What will you do?
As Director Corporate Standards Volvo Group, you will have the responsibility for leading a team as well as contributing to various activities within GTT and/or cross Business Areas and Business Units. You will lead, guide, engage and support our teams consisting of highly skilled and motivated employees. You will work cross-functionally and collaborate closely with relevant internal and external stakeholders and partners. You will collaborate with colleagues across Volvo Group Business areas to excel in standardization methods
In this role you will:
• Manage a team of >20 Standardization Engineers
• Develop and maintain Volvo Group standards and design guidelines in your area of expertise e.g. regarding test methods, painting, electrolytic surface treatments etc.
• Provide training and technical advice to users of standards, e.g. design engineering, purchasing, aftermarket, etc.
• Establish and lead cross-functional Volvo Group networks to develop standards and support the implementation of the standards.
• Represent Corporate Standards in Volvo Group forums in your area of expertise.
• Represent the Volvo Group in national and international standardization forums and network with universities and external institutes
• Identify and drive efficiency improvements in the areas of Standardization, as well as the implementation of digital developments (AI)
• Take responsibility and accountability for implementing the necessary changes in our way-of-working, our digital transformation and continuous product development improvements to meet the current and future needs of Volvo GTT and our broader ecosystem.
• Empower the team to take big picture thinking and connect across organization with good collaboration and networking capabilities.
• Empower the team to drive CAST team scope across Volvo group with right level of influencing and collaboration.
• Keep up the team expectations to the next level on the strategic business ambitions in the areas of standardization and DVP processes.
As a member of the CAST leadership team, you will ensure that corporate standards tools and methods are efficient for end-users. You will collaborate with the global CAST team to develop unified solutions for standardization and digital transformation. You will also seek external networks and partnerships to leverage financial and research advantages, while contributing to the modernization of standardization tools. Additionally, you will provide leadership to support strategic and operational deliveries.
Are we a perfect match? We believe that:
• You have a MSc or higher educational background (PhD) in Engineering (preferably automotive)
• You have a track record in working in the main standardization engineering functions (Hardware and/or Software Development)
• You have experience in conducting changes, and you are comfortable in handling multiple development models

You will be part of the CAST Leadership Team and report functionally to the Vice-President - CAST
